Llewellyn brought me a couple of lily bulbs some years ago. I am guessing it was six years ago. I don't know what he said about them or why he gave them to me. I only know that I didn't have a particularly good place to put them and stuck them in some awful hard soil in a shaded spot and hoped for the best. I think I intended to move them to a better spot. They did horribly. Sending up a pitiful plant with no flower. I had to actually put a couple of rocks by them so that I could remember they were even there. Two years ago, we had a strong wind come through during the night on July 4. It snapped off a grouping of forty-year-old ponderosa trees and made a giant opening in our tree row. So, the flower bed where the lily bulbs were planted began to have full sunlight. We put some compost on the bed and began to water more often. For the first time, the lily plants are thriving and strong beautiful and three feet tall. I learned they are called a lily tree. I have been watching for a month for the blooms to open so I could see what this lily tree is all about. Today, the blooms opened for the first time ever, and they are beautiful and smell glorious. I find it interesting that after all this time, I got flowers from Llewellyn today. Thank you, dear brother, they are beautiful.
