I am dealing with the passing of time. Healing is a gradual thing. Sometimes hard to measure progress. I feel ok for the most part. But weak. Movement takes energy. If I am not moving, I feel pretty normal.

I remember how slowly the time passed when in high school. We watched the clock that hung on the wall and we knew the exact second the last bell would ring. Then we would bolt out of our desks. We couldn't wait to graduate and leave home and then to turn twenty-one.

We were ready to fall in love and get married and start a family.

When the kids were little, we wanted time to go faster as we waited for their first steps, first tooth, first words. It took forever.

Then we wanted time to slow down when it came time for them to leave home and go off into the world. They were ready.

We wished we had more time with our parents.

We waited and in time, our children found their special someone and married. 

And oh, we couldn't wait to be grandparents. It's the best.

We have been waiting to retire and we are there. We still work and we have plenty of things to do with our time, but we get to pick how we spend our days. And that is pretty amazing. 

So, all these things have come to pass. Reed and I have a beautiful life here with wonderful children and their spouses and our grandchildren are so very grand. And I have all the time in the world to sit and ponder on all this passing of time business. It is not as easy as one might think, to spend the day just passing the time. And I am working at it. Keep those prayers coming in please, I just know they are helping me.
